Ms. Ruane
I
am excited to be your students’ second grade teacher. I have been teaching for six years in Fulton
County Schools. This is my 4th
year teaching at Dunwoody Springs Elementary School. Teaching is my second career and I really
love it! I come from a family of
educators and as my cousin from Ireland said,” it’s it our blood!”
I
have one daughter who is a freshman in college this year. So, I am an empty nester at home these
days. I do have two dogs that keep me
company, but other than the dogs it is quiet at home these days.
When
I am not teaching or writing lesson plans, I enjoy reading, going to the beach
and snow skiing. In the past, I enjoyed
running, cycling and swimming. I
thought teaching would allow more time for training, but the opposite was
true. My goal is someday get back into
running consistently.
I
love to watch college football and I wear red and black. Yes,
I
am a Georgia Bulldog! I have an
undergraduate degree from UGA and a masters in teaching from Rivier College in
New Hampshire.
As,
Conrad Hall said, “You are always a student,
never a master. You have to keep moving forward.” I look forward to a great year of
teaching and learning with your child!
